David Wayne Kenney Sr. passed peacefully in his sleep on September 14th, 2026 at the age of 68. He was born in Portland, Maine to Barrett and Rhoda Kenney.
A proud member of the Armed Forces, he served in the 1st Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, stationed in Fort Worth and West Germany in the 1980s. In 1999, he attended the American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona, Florida, where he learned the skills necessary to accomplish his dream of owning his own motorcycle shop. He opened Portland V-Twin, quickly becoming a successful motorcycle mechanic, and even built a number of custom motorcycles from scratch.
A loving father and dedicated husband to his wife, Andrea, they were married for 34 years until her passing. Together, they raised three children: David Wayne Kenney Jr., Jonathan David Kenney, and Zachary Scott Kenney.
He was predeceased by his parents, Barrett and Rhoda Kenney; his wife, Andrea Trynor-Kenney; his son, Jonathan Kenney; his sister, Linda Emanus; and his brother, Barrett “PeeWee” Kenney.
He is survived by his sons, David and Zach Kenney; his chosen son, Joel Bryce; his brothers, Richard and Todd Kenney; and his two grandchildren, Josiah and Alexandria Kenney.
David will be remembered for a love of history documentaries, wearing blue Levi’s jeans every day of the week, his funny stories and ability to make others laugh.
He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
